In line with sustained growth, Lockton are currently recruiting for an apprentice to support the Quality Assurance team in the Lockton Property & Casualty division. There will be full training and support and you will work towards a fully funded professional qualification.  This is a fantastic opportunity to join a market -leading broker and start your career in a specialist area of insurance.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking and organised person to join our busy technical team, handling the day today servicing, documentation production, invoicing and processing.

The main tasks and responsibilities within the role will include:

  • Preparing client invoices and credit notes and issuing  to clients within 14 days of inception
  • Creating renewal contracts (slips) and assisting with new business slips
  • Preparing contract endorsements 
  • Drafting of simple wording endorsements
  • Running monthly renewal reports for the team
  • Regularly checking the Bureau held funds position and release signed items for payment to the markets in conjunction with the accounts department
  • Assist accounts with any credit control queries where QA team help is needed
  • Submitting premiums to Xchanging for signing and payment using e-accounts and IMR processes 
  • Resolving technical and processing queries from Xchanging in respect of premium signings to the market
  • Handling premium payment bordereaux to ensure that these are processed and submitted to the bureau for signing and settlement in a timely fashion and no bordereaux risks are left outstanding on the bureau held funds report for more than 3 months
  • Preparing files and archiving files
  • Joining the Lockton Apprenticeship Scheme
  • Commit to taking CII exams within an agreed timeframe.

Candidate Profile

Suitable candidates for the role will have recently completed A Levels and will need to demonstrate a flexible approach and a willingness to learn. Candidates who are successful in this role will have scope to develop their career in other areas of this growing business (e.g. Account Executives, Brokers, Claims Negotiators or new business specialists). 

Competencies required in the role include:

  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to manage time, priorities and ensure deadlines are met without compromising quality
  • To have an eye for detail, to be inquisitive and prepared to learn quickly
  • To be willing to learn quickly but also to be inquisitive and not be afraid to ask questions
  • Competence in Microsoft Office suite is beneficial
