Job Profile

Lockton - Experienced Professional

Title

Actuarial Analyst - Reinsurance

Description

What is the opportunity?

We are looking for an Actuarial Analyst to join the Lockton Re Analytics team in London, supporting our North America broking team, focused on US P&C clients, and our Non-Marine Retrocession and Property Specialty broking team, focused on the property business of Lloyd’s syndicates and reinsurers.

This is a highly visible, front-office role where Analytics sits alongside broking teams, providing high-value insights and partnering closely with colleagues and clients. The environment is fast-paced and varied — you’ll work across multiple products and lines of business, so the ability to adapt, learn quickly, and switch focus is key.

You’ll be joining a collegiate, global team of 70+ actuaries, catastrophe modellers, developers, and specialists. The team operates as one — flexible, collaborative, and without silos — supporting each other across all areas. This is a great opportunity for someone working towards their actuarial qualification to gain exposure across a broad range of clients and lines of business.

We are seeking a candidate with 2 to 4 years’ experience from a carrier or broker, ideally with some exposure to pricing, who is progressing through actuarial exams and looking to build a career in reinsurance analytics.

What does the role involve?

·       Work in a multi-disciplinary environment — alongside brokers, actuaries, catastrophe modellers and other specialists — to deliver high-quality insights to clients

·       Support the analysis of client portfolios and reinsurance strategy development

·       Assist in pricing, structuring and evaluating reinsurance programmes

·       Work across multiple products and lines of business, developing broad market exposure

·       Contribute to projects and tenders, supporting senior team members

·       Manage multiple tasks and deadlines, prioritising effectively with guidance

·       Engage with brokers, clients and reinsurers, building confidence in stakeholder interaction

·       Support the development of tools and analytical approaches

·       Learn from and collaborate with senior colleagues, with opportunities to develop and take on increasing responsibility over time

Candidate Profile

What qualities do you need?

·       Working towards actuarial qualification

·       Strong interest in reinsurance

·       Preferably experience from a London Market carrier, broker, or P&C (re)insurance consultancy

·       Ability to work across multiple products, with a willingness to learn and adapt

·       Strong relationship-building skills and confidence developing stakeholder communication

·       Collaborative mindset — thrive in a non-siloed, team-oriented environment

·       Proactive, organised and eager to learn

·       Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail

·       Good communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly
