Description

This is an exciting time to be part of the firm’s Finance department and we expect new joiners to actively contribute to the development of the team.

 

Purpose of the role

 

An opportunity has opened up for an organised, highly self-motivated individual to work within the Group Reporting Team of Lockton International. The successful candidate will play a key role in the following:

 

  • Supporting the International finance team in producing accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated management and statutory accounts.
  • Preparation of accounting schedules, account reconciliations and financial reports.
  • Leading the co-ordination and successful delivery of an effective external audit process.
  • This is an 18 month contractor role as existing team members support in the implementation of enhanced global financial systems solutions.

Candidate Profile

Key responsibilities of the role

 

  • Lead co-ordinator and touch point in the liaison with the firm’s external auditors to ensure an effective and efficient audit process. Takes the lead in coordinating the provision of audit evidence and samples.
  • Posting and reconciling various month end accounting journal entries as part of the consolidation of the International business. This includes intercompany reconciliation and close out processes across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Liaison with third party contractors in India to ensure efficient completion of month end processes.
  • Preparation of various accounting schedules and reports to support the monitoring and control of the International business.
  • Preparation and analysis of accounting reconciliations for certain balance sheet accounts.
  • Responsible for the preparation of statutory accounts and supporting working papers for a small number of entities in accordance with UK GAAP.
  • Responsible for legal entity regulatory and statutory reporting for the Company’s Malta subsidiary and coordination of the annual audit process.
  • Assisting with the preparation of year end accounting papers relating to key judgemental areas.
  • Updating and enhancing process documentation and accounting guidance memos and papers.
  • Supports the team in producing technical accounting papers for acquisitions and other complex technical matters.
  • Actively contributing to strengthening of the Finance team and identifying opportunities to improve processes, controls and analysis.

About The Position

Qualifications / Educational Requirements

 

  • Good academic background, with strong A levels
  • Educated to degree standard – preferable, but not essential
  • Qualified accountant: ACA / ACCA / CIMA

 

Relevant Experience

  • Accounting and finance related experience gained in industry or in practice
  • Newly or recently qualified accountant
  • Evidence of a structured approach to work, a project management mindset and delivery to timelines.
  • Demonstrate ability to work well as part of a team
  • Experience of working in a high paced deadline driven environment
  • Preferable exposure to financial services but strong non-financial services considered
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
