Description

In line with Lockton's strategy, the Finance department is developing and enhancing its capabilities. A vision and strategy for Finance is currently being developed, which will review the organisational structure, the use of financial systems, increase the efficiency of our processes and enhance the engagement with our internal and external clients. This is an exciting time to be part of the firm’s Finance department and we expect new joiners to actively contribute to the development of the team.

The Europe Finance team’s strategy is also to enhance FP&A with production of additional reports and analysis.

We are currently undergoing a ledger transition which adds additional workload to the team, especially to the FP&A Manager. To ease this transition we are hiring for additional cover for BAU activity on a fixed term contract basis.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Lead the consolidation of the annual Europe budget & 5-year plan and quarterly reforecasts including preparation of packs to Europe executive.
  • Lead the annual expense budgeting and forecast process for the Europe central resource cost centres.
  • Improve the process and reporting of expense allocations.
  • Coordinate month-end close process.
  • Prepare and present executive leadership packs, including monthly finance pack and committee reports.
  • Liaise with and support the International FP&A team with respect to the Europe results within the International packs.
  • Enhance Europe FP&A reporting capabilities via the ledger reporting tool (CXO).
  • Produce strategic KPIs which align to the Group’s strategic vision.
  • Produce ad hoc analysis on revenue and profitability as required.
  • Track and report on ongoing investments performance versus plan.
  • Develop appropriate processes for global initiatives, including working with Tax, International FP&A and Operations teams to ensure accurate MI and statutory reporting.
  • Develop strong relationships with relevant stakeholders both within the wider International Finance function and the wider business.
  • Work with regional finance and operations teams to ensure timely and accurate bookings.
  • Ensure senior management and wider leadership group are effectively supported by the Finance department.
  • Working closely with the divisional leadership to understand their business and become a trusted advisor having real commercial impact.
  • Actively contributing to strengthening of the Finance team and identifying opportunities to improve processes, controls and analysis.
  • Maintain in depth knowledge of the business profile and the wider industry.

Candidate Profile

Qualifications / Educational Requirements:

  • Good academic background, with strong A levels or equivalent
  • Educated to degree standard – preferable, but not essential
  • Qualified accountant: ACA / ACCA / CIMA

Relevant Experience:

  • Accounting and finance related experience gained in industry or in practice
  • Excellent analytical and relationship building skills, across multiple countries and cultures
  • Ability to thrive in a finance transformational environment and ability to adapt to changes
  • Hands-on, solutions-focused approach
  • Open to challenge the status quo and where appropriate, develop rounded solutions
  • Investigative nature with the desire to learn and improve
  • Proven ability to drive changes and implement new policies / processes
  • Demonstrate ability to work well as a team
  • Advanced Excel / data manipulation skills
  • Strong stakeholder management experience
  • Previous experience of forecasting
