Lockton are currently looking to recruit a senior account executive / technical broker to join their Marine Liability Practice. The team design, market and place coverage for a broad range of clients within the shipping and energy industries. Their clients include: shipowners, charterers, shipyards, port and terminal operators, marine and oilfield service contractors, transport and logistics operators, energy traders and marine insurers (reinsurance).
The team deal with both retail and wholesale clients and operate a culture that is unique, emanating from the entrepreneurial spirit of its senior management and the flat structure in which the organisation operates. The practice area has achieved significant success in recent years with strong organic growth and positive client and employee feedback. The internal culture of the organisation is recognised as a key differentiator and the quality of service delivery is highly rated by clients. To maintain these high standards the team has identified a need to bring in a senior account executive/ technical broker.
About The Role
The team are seeking an individual to act as a client advocate serving as a central point of contact within the team for day to day service delivery, which will include:
· Serving the teams clients as an advocate for their needs, ensuring delivery of exceptional service through close and regular interaction
· The preparation of client and underwriting presentations
· The preparation of slips
· Contract reviews
· The preparation and accurate production of documentation
· Account onboarding, including sanctions checks
· Tracking premium payments to ensure a good credit control profile exists, in conjunction with the wider team
· Assistance with the management and organisation of the team’s renewal book
· Delegating work where appropriate to other team members and escalating certain elements when required to the more senior members of the team
The role will be predominantly internal facing, but there will be direct client and underwriter contact both over the phone and in person where required.
Candidate Profile
About You
Your knowledge and expertise:
· A minimum of 7.5 + years of experience in marine insurance or another line of specialty commercial insurance that is transferable
· Proficiency in London market wordings and documentation, slip creation and trading tools (PPL etc) and Microsoft Office
· Attention to detail orientated and technically proficient
· Organised
· Ability to prepare a broking presentation that accurately reflects the cover required and meets the clients' demands and needs.
· Ability to communicate effectively and professionally both verbally and in writing with clients, insurers and other associates.
· Ability to manage time, prioritise and ensure that deadlines are met without compromising quality.
· Ability build and maintain good business relationships with clients, insurers and associates.
· An understanding of regulatory controls and procedures relating to both commercial and retail customers.
· An understanding of the general, legal principles of insurance, particularly liability insurance, and of insurer rating methods for each class of insurance.
