Description

Lockton is recruiting for a placing broker to join our team in a role providing programme design, placement, marketing and consultancy services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage client, market, and underwriter relationships at an operational level.
  • Understand clients risk profile, business needs and exposures to assist in providing advice on coverage, programme pricing and retention strategy.
  • Assist in overseeing the preparation and issuance of appropriate coverage documentation, including wordings and placement slips within agreed contract certainty deadlines.
  • Preparing market submissions for new and renewal business.
  • Identify and manage the use of other Lockton resources/specialist teams.
  • Assist with the resolution of service issues with insurers and other third-party providers.
  • Attend Client Strategy Meetings where required.
  • Provide, with oversight, technical reviews (where identified) of insurance programmes for clients, making recommendations for change, where deemed relevant.
  • Maintain a current knowledge of cover written by the major insurers.
  • Keep abreast of insurance market developments.
  • Constantly monitor the market in order to consider the most appropriate placement strategy for Lockton.
  • Provide support in drafting reports/presentations/bulletins for use both internally and externally.

Candidate Profile

  • Previous experience in placing binders business, ideally with experience in North American business
  • Growth mindset, and the drive to play an important role alongside the team in running and growing the book
  • Excellent communication skills, and strong market relationships
  • Analytical skills to interpret data and analyses to enable effective broking
