Description

  • Work with existing inbound leads and opportunities generated through Lockton’s internal network
  • Build, manage, and progress a healthy pipeline of Trade Credit opportunities
  • Act as a key point of contact for prospective clients, managing day-to-day communication and guiding them through the early stages of the sales process
  • Develop a strong understanding of clients’ businesses, trade exposures, and commercial needs
  • Partner closely with Account Executives and Policy Managers who will support you with technical expertise and client servicing
  • Support meetings, presentations, and proposal activity alongside senior colleagues
  • Maintain accurate pipeline activity and opportunity tracking
  • Gradually build technical knowledge of Trade Credit insurance, insurer appetite, and market dynamics through structured training and on-the-job learning

Candidate Profile

 What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in a sales, business development, account management, or client-facing commercial role
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A proactive, organised, and persistent approach to managing leads and pipelines
  • Confidence engaging with clients and stakeholders on a daily basis
  • A genuine interest in developing a career within insurance (previous insurance experience is not essential)
  • Commercially curious with a willingness to learn technical concepts over time

About The Position

Lockton is continuing to invest in the growth of its Trade Credit offering and is seeking a Business Development Executive to support the expansion of this specialist line across the UK.

 

This role is ideal for someone with a proven sales or business development background who is keen to develop a long-term career in insurance. You’ll work closely with experienced Trade Credit specialists who will provide training and support as you build technical knowledge in this area.

 

The role will focus on nurturing existing leads, building and managing a strong pipeline of opportunities, and engaging with clients on a day-to-day basis to progress conversations and convert new business.

 

About the Team

You will join Lockton’s established Trade Credit team, working alongside experienced Account Executives and Policy Managers who provide deep technical and servicing expertise.

 

This is a collaborative environment where development is actively supported, and you’ll have exposure to a specialist product within a global brokerage.
