Description

Lockton are currently looking at recruiting an experienced Real Estate practitioner either from private practice or industry to join our Transactional Risks team in London as a producing broker and to lead our existing Real Estate Transactional Risks (“RETR”) team with respect to the placement of Warranty & Indemnity (“W&I) and Title Insurance policies.



As a producing broker in the Real Estate Transactional Risks team you will be responsible for advising clients, driving our RETR strategy, executing and placing transactions, business development and managing a team.


Our many years of experience working with specialists across Real Estate have enabled us to develop a robust and proven ability for service delivery, advice and tailored coverage to address the varied insurance needs of our clients and their interests, including innovative areas of cover.

 

About the Role

 

 

  • Assisting in business development, where appropriate individually initiate and close new business opportunities from prospects and clients and leverage the Lockton network
  • When acting as lead deal team member, manage the deal team and process
  • Lead initial conversations with clients and/or their advisers
  • Provide advice on the scope of coverage and insurance structure to meets the clients’ coverage needs
  • Analyse transaction documents and provide advice to the client and its advisers on the likely insurable position 
  • Review DD reports in order to understand key deal issues relevant to successful risk placement
  • Lead negotiations with markets
  • Manage process through to successful close
  • Assisting the RETR team in developing consistent, market leading wordings, innovative placement processes, leveraging our wider product offering.
  • Placement and execution of Transactions from onboarding clients through to servicing and advising throughout the underwriting process and ultimately execution of the deal and the policy.
  • Assist junior team members in their growth and development
  • Assist in business development, to include: feeding into promotional materials, attending presentations, conferences, marketing and PR campaigns; researching and writing content for articles and publications as required

  • Strong technical and M&A execution skills 
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Business acumen
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experience of working in a client facing environment
  • Some experience of transaction liability products preferred but not essential
  • Ideally an understanding of W&I insurance
