Title

Reinsurance Client Services Advocate

Description

What is the opportunity?
We are looking for a Reinsurance Client Services Advocate to join our growing team, supporting an expanding Treaty and Facultative portfolio. This is a broad, end-to-end technical servicing role covering processing, treaty, excess of loss claims and IBA functions.
You will work closely with brokers, clients, reinsurers and colleagues across the business, combining strong technical knowledge with responsive, accurate client service. The role suits someone who can manage competing priorities independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

What does the role involve?
Technical processing
·       Manage multi-disciplined technical processing across premiums, proportional business, excess of loss claims, binders and facultative reinsurance.
·       Communicate with clients and carriers on technical matters, providing clear and timely updates.
·       Work independently, manage priorities and support colleagues to maintain high standards of client service.
·       Build effective relationships with internal teams, clients and reinsurers.
·       Understand each client’s requirements and work with them to achieve the best possible outcome.
·       Participate in client and reinsurer meetings as required.
Broker support
·       Complete risk sign-down activity.
·       Prepare and maintain account statistics.
·       Support the overall servicing of client accounts and the retention of business.
·       Use appropriate electronic methods throughout the servicing process.
Excess of loss claims
·       Negotiate claims from initial notification through to settlement and closure.
·       Handle complex claims across classes including excess of loss reinsurance, binders and facultative reinsurance.
·       Support reinsurer audits and direct claims activity, including underwriter representation where required.

·       Negotiate non-standard claims matters, including ex-gratia and exceptional presentations.

·       Maintain a strong understanding of letters of credit and complete adjustments proactively within required timeframes.

Insurance broking accounts
·       Review aged debt reports monthly, chase outstanding items and arrange settlement of held balances.

·       Prepare and reconcile client statements and payments.

·       Allocate cash received accurately and promptly.

·       Monitor daily activity and resolve outstanding items in a timely manner.

Candidate Profile

Experience and technical knowledge
·       Relevant reinsurance experience in a client services, technical processing or claims role.

·       Competence in at least one of the following, with an interest in developing a broader multi-disciplined skill set: proportional premiums and claims, or excess of loss premiums and claims.

·       Reinsurance claims experience and a strong understanding of claims processes are essential.

·       In-depth knowledge of the Lloyd’s and/or company reinsurance market.

·       Practical knowledge of IMR, CLASS, ECF and LORS.

·       Experience of insurance broking accounts functions would be advantageous.

·       Experience using Salesforce and OpenTWINS would be advantageous.

·       Experience working with large corporate clients would be beneficial.

Skills and ways of working
·       Ability to build and maintain strong business relationships with clients, insurers and colleagues.

·       Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills.

·       Ability to manage time, prioritise effectively and meet deadlines without compromising quality.

·       Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to resolve unusual or complex issues and turn findings into practical action.

·       A thorough understanding of, and commitment to, internal standards, procedures and quality assurance.

·       Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, or equivalent applications.
