Owing to the success of our expanding International P&C business unit, Lockton Re are looking to hire this Senior Claims Specialist to join our team in the London office, focusing specifically on Casualty & Motor business. 

 

Role Responsibilities

This is a dedicated role for an experienced Excess of Loss Claims Specialist which will include the following responsibilities: 

  • Cover complex claims and negotiate claims matters i.e. ECO, ex-gratia, and non-standard presentations.
  • Identify client’s individual requirements and work alongside them to achieve the best possible outcomes to embrace the client partnership ethos within Lockton Re.
  • Foster a close working relationship alongside our production team.
  • Proactively engage and meet with reinsurers to manage queries and follow up on responses, focusing on delivering a value-added service for our clients.
  • Negotiate and process claims from initial notice, through to the settlement and closure of claims.
  • Knowledge of Indexation and the ability to calculate and process Reinstatements.
  • Daily monitoring of held balances to follow our “pay as paid” process, working closely alongside our IBA team.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of the Lloyd’s and Company Reinsurance markets.
  • Provide technical claim advice on contract wordings.
  • Assist with the mentoring and development of team members.         

Candidate Profile

Successful applicants will be able to evidence experience in the following role requirements:

  • Essential in-depth knowledge of IMR, CLASS, ECF, LORS and advantageous for candidate to have experience of Open TWINS.
  • Experience with dealing with large corporate clients.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally both verbally and in writing with clients, reinsurers and other associates, including RFP’s and regular presentations both internal and external.
  • Manage time, prioritise and ensure that deadlines are met without compromising quality.
